It is recited with reverence and is also used in Indian courts of law to swear in the Hindu witnesses. Bhagavadh Geetha is a dialog between Arjuna the warrior and Krushna, the avatar of Vishnu. It contains questions by Arjuna and answers by Krushna. Vishnu and his avatar Krushna are considered God by Hindus. It is recorded in Varaaha Puraana that reciting Bhagavadh Geetha would cleanse the greatest of the sins and burns away bad Karma. It blesses the devotee with a good comfortable life on the earth and salvation upon departure from this world. Read it; understand it; assimilate its true meaning; and benefit from the wisdom contained in Bhagavadh Geetha. This is a literal translation that adheres to the original Sanskrit text as closely as possible.
