Inaugurated on October 20, 1984, the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain will celebrate its 30th anniversary this year. Following the release of Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain, Volume 1, which showcased the remarkable Fondation Cartier building in Paris, this companion volume recounts thirty years of great exhibitions, events, and encounters in the museum’s history.

Conceived as a dictionary of the Fondation Cartier, this second publication presents the contributions of numerous artists, thinkers, and authors to the institution from its creation to the present day. This richly illustrated publication favors a playful nonlinear reading of its nearly two hundred entries and invites readers to delve into a history full of surprise, diversity, and eclecticism.
