Fracture Mechanics: From Theory to Practice

Fracture has become one of the key problems of the science of strength, and strength of materials in particular. The author presents the reader with a clear foundation in the mechanics and mathematics of fracture and discusses fundamental points of fracture mechanics and its applications in industry. A brief historical account of the development of fracture-mechanical concepts and a description of the present-day state of the field are also given.
