Blended Education in Social Work: A Case Study in Teaching, Learning and Technology

A newly emerging trend in higher education is the purposeful integration or blending of traditional (face-to-face) and online learning in order to provide educational opportunities that maximize the benefits of each platform and thus more effectively facilitate student learning. This book presents research on a two-year, mixed methods case study of a graduate degree program in social work delivered in a blended format. Various quantitative and qualitative data collection methods were utilized to explore multiple aspects of the program, including the experiences of students and instructors, factors that contribute to effective teaching and learning, and the role of technology in facilitating teaching and learning.
