The present study proves the health benefits of Nadi-shodhan pranayama and Suryanamaskar on cardio-respiratory system by improving cardio-respiratory efficiency.The present study concludes that daily practice of both Nadi-shodhan pranayama and Suryanamaskar improves Cardio-respiratory efficiency and could also be included as a part of physical fitness and life style modification program in maintaining better physical and mental health. Therefore, Nadi-shodhan pranayama and Suryanamaskar should be advised for management of stress related disorders like hypertension, anxiety, peptic ulcer etc in conjunction with the medical therapy. As India is now the epicenter of diabetes, hypertension and heart diseases, there is an urgent need to bring public awareness about the importance & health benefits, through the practice of both Nadi-shodhan pranayama and Suryanamaskar.
