Urea Based Straw Treatments for Dairy Cattle Feeding Management: Concept of urea treatment on rice straw and its profitability under farmers condition in Chitwan, Nepal

Commercialization is must in the field of dairy development in the country like Nepal. Considering few years back, dairy farming is gaining popularity. However,advanced technology in the field of dairy farming is still lacking. Farmers are forced to follow their traditional feeding practices in their dairy animals. Rice straw is the major feeding material that farmers have been using since many years. Treatment of rice straw can also be a beneficial package that can add supplemental benefit to the farmers. The research on different forms of straw with and without urea treatment and its findings can thus be a guideline to the farmers who are motivated to commercial dairy farming. Benefit cost ratio on each and every aspect while adopting different feeding pattern should be well considered for getting better output in dairy business.
