Description ▲
The book is based on the agronomic investigation entitled as “Response of soybean varieties to moisture conservation†which was carried out at Marathwada Agricultural University, Parbhani in India. The Strip Plot Design was used in experiment which consisted of twelve treatment combinations comprising of four treatments of moisture conservation techniques with three varieties replicated three times. The four moisture conservation techniques consisted of T1 (opening of furrow after every 3 rows), T2 (opening of furrow after every 6 rows), T3 (opening of furrow after every 9 rows) and T4 (sowing on flat bed) with three varieties i.e. V1 (JS-335), V2 (JS 93-05) and V3 (MAUS-71) were included in the investigation.Moisture conservation techniques influenced significantly on the important growth and yield characters viz. plant height, number of functional leaves, leaf area per plant, total dry matter production, seed index and grain yield per hactare. The moisture conservation technique of opening of furrow after every 3 rows found superior over all the other treatments and soyben variety JS-335 produced higher yield under moisture conservation treatments.
