Pharmacological Evalution Of Leaves Of Populus Deltoides: Phytochemistry and Pharmacological activity of Populus deltoides

Analgesic, anti-inflammatory, & anti-pyretic activities of Populus deltoids was tested by Carrageenan-induced paw oedema. Analgesic activity studies is done by Acetic acid-induced writhing test for central analgesic studies and Hot plate maethod for peripheral analgesic studies. Yeast induce Pyrexia is done for antipyretic activity studies.The extract revealed with significant anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic activites.The results obtained in this study indicate that Populus deltoids extract possesses potent anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic properties, which are mediated via peripheral and central inhibitory mechanisms. This could provide a rationale for the use of this plant in inflammatory, fever and pain disorders in folk medicine.
