Description ▲
For the rehabilitation purpose of patients with Lateral Epicondylitis, elbow position is an important factor for grip strength as different joint angles will have specific effect on strength.Weakness of extensors lead to weak grip strength due to non synchronous action of wrist extensors and finger flexors. The maximum force that a muscle or muscle group can generate depends on the length of that muscle. The change in torque as a result of change in length is well documented and is referred as length-tension relationship. In the present study De Lorme’s strengthening exercises on three elbow angles i.e. 150°, 120ª and 90° showed significant increase in wrist extensor Peak torque and Grip strength, however 90° angle was found to be more beneficial.
