Description ▲
Data on the synthesis of thiazoles systems from thioamide, thiourea, thiosemicarbazide, and labile sulfur was reviewed. The principal directions in the practical application of these substances are briefly discussed. Thiazole derivatives are important class of sulfur containing heterocyclic compounds, found in many potent biologically active molecules such as Cefdinir (antibacterial drug, semisynthetic third generation cephalosporin drug), flucloxacillin (androgenic steroid danazol), Pramipexole (The dopamine D2-agonist), Sulfathiazol (antimicrobial drug), Ritonavir (The HIV-1 protease inhibitor, antiretroviral drug), Famotidine (H2-receptor antagonist), Febuxostat (Xanthine oxidase inhibitor), Ziprasidone (Antipsychotic agent), etc. Thiazole derivatives were scanned against different bacteria and fungi, some of the derivatives shows strong anti-microbial activity was summarized.
