Synopsis: Painting, Architecture, Sculpture/Malerei, Architektur (Geschichte und Theorie der Architektur)

This volume consists essentially of a picture section, seven essays by Aalto and a scientific apparatus containing a complete list of works of buildings and projects (1918-1970). These theoretical essays explore the basic conditions from which creative invention must proceed. Aalto's design method is one which simultaneously embraces the different fields of painting, architecture, sculpture and furniture design - a comprehension of the problems of form as a whole. There is also a bibliography by Leonardo Mosso.
