Michael Graves is one of the best-known contemporary architects the world over. His buildings have already become part of architectural history and frequently his work and the word Post-Modernism are mentioned in one and the same breath. Michael Graves is not just an architect, but also a designer. Indeed, many people are simply not aware of the vast scale of his work as a designer – although his designs grace almost all households today. For example, not only has he designed a whole series of table-top objects for Alessi, starting with the meanwhile famous kettle, and ranging from butter trays to small milk jugs. But he has also created furniture, clocks, jewellery, lights, cases and much more.
