Description

There is a need in rural Nepal to increase the educational status of school-leaving certificate (SLC) students (or higher level). Every year around 50% of these students fail in their main board exam offered by the Office of Controller of Examinations, Nepal (OCE). The main reasons why student of rural schools are doing so bad in SLC board exam can be visualized in two perspectives. One is that, teachers support to students in their learning behavior is not enough for students in public school¿s learning environment. Teachers lack good learning environment (medium)to reach and support individual students. Another perspective is student learn in isolation environment. In public schools of Nepal, there is not much of support for students regarding course material resources, public schools lacks library, text books, supporting documents for courses and also limited resources available for teacher. The emergence of Wiki technology has potential in using it in education where teachers can fully manage students' records; examine how they are advancing and what they are currently doing. In addition, students can easily exchange information among themselves.
