Description

In this paper cellular neural networks, a special form of neural networks, will be examined, with respect to their applicability to the calculation of physical fields. After studying the relevant articles in the theoretical part simple cellular neural networks will be analysed. The results will help to design new templates for the calculation of electromagnetic fields. In the practical part it will be shown that cellular neural networks or the calculation of linear, partial differential equations are not a new algorithm, but they are a very flexible algorithm which can be reconciled with existing algorithms. The type of algorithm which is implemented depends only on the template and the structure of the network. The software simulator CNN 2.0 was used to check and demonstrate the results. A plurality of field calculations with this simulator shows that it is useful to make these calculations on already existing parallel computers and to use the advantages of parallel calculations.
