Stability and Genetic Variability of Oil Palm Bunch Yield Components: NIFOR Second Cycle Oil Palm Hybrids

Considering the genetic and economic potentials of the oil palm (Elaies guineensis Jacq.) in Nigeria, the yield potential of the crop is yet to be achieved. In a bid to narrow this yield gap, the stability and genetic variation inherent in the yield components was examined. As a treatise on the second cycle reciprocal recurrent selection scheme of the Nigerian Institute for Oil Palm Research (NIFOR), this book provides recent methodology on the two way interaction of the oil palm with the environment and yield components vis-a-viz the heritable and non-heritable variations.
