Comparative Study of EC and IAEA Guidance: on Exemption and Clearance Levels

This study was entrusted to BRENK Systemplanung (contract TREN/07/NUCL/S07.76852).This report gives details of the in-depth assessment of the issue by the contractor andpresents the contractor's views on how to resolve some of the issues. The report wasexamined by the Group of Experts established under Article 31 of the Euratom Treaty andwas the basis for the new requirements on exemption and clearance envisaged for therevised Basic Safety Standards Directive under the Expert's Opinion delivered on24.02.2010.
