Problems Around Soil and Waste: I Horizontal Aspects of Leaching

With its new workshop series "Problems around Soil and Waste", the European Commission DG JRC's Institute for Environment and Sustainability is highlighting those technical regarding the characterization of soil and waste, which are relevant for the development of a commonly underlying approach towards the use of leaching test for soil, soil-related matrices, waste and also other solid materials would facilitate the implementation of EU policies. This initiative goes along with a strong support of the JRC for the activities related to horizontal standardization, in particular as performed in the so-called Project HORIZONTAL, dealing among others with the development of an across-matrix standardization framework for soil, (treated) biowaste and sludges.
