Description ▲
V E P is electrical potential differences recorded from the vertex in response to visual stimuli. Refractive errors and eye dominance was studied on V E P. The latency is increased and amplitude decreased with and without correction of refractive errors. V E P’s are affected by refractive errors. V E P’s are found to be more affected without correction. Amongst the refractive errors the V E Ps seem to be more affected in Hypermetropes as compared to Myopes. The latency is increased and amplitude decreased without and with correction of refractive errors. The latency is decreased and amplitude is increased on stimulation of dominant eye when compared to non-dominant eye. Visual Acuity must be considered in the interpretation of the V. E. P.’s recorded for other visual disorders.V E P are affected in refractive errors and eye dominance and should be taken into account while comparing V E P’s of the two eyes of the same subject. The V.E. P.’s are affected in subjects with refractive errors irrespective of correction and given individuals show right or left eye dominance in V E P recordings of both eyes of the same subject.
