Synchronization of oestrus in goats: Intra-vaginal progesterone pessaries

The goat, popularly called as poor man’s cow plays a vital role in rural economy of Indian sub-continent. Among various reproductive techniques, oestrus synchronization is a highly useful reproductive managemental tool to augment fertility and fecundity in goats. This book, a part of MVSc thesis explores the possibilities of uses of FGA, MAP intra-vaginal sponges and CIDR device for the induction of oestrus and subsequent fertility after natural mating or A.I. with frozen semen in goats. Further all recent research works on oestrus synchronization and other assisted reproductive techniques in goats have been included. Data on hormonal variations at synchronized oestrus in goats is included.
