A Beat of the Wings: Angels in Film (English and German Edition)

Angels are mediators between the worlds. The legends of their travels between heaven and earth are still fascinating. The cinema is considered to be related to dreams, which makes angels in films projected shapes of light between vision and reality. On screen, they appear as messengers and protectors, as warriors and fallen angels, as companions into the hereafter. They give love, and sometimes they even fall in love. "A Beat of the Wings" takes the reader on a journey into the heaven of film-angels. The book, which accompanied an exhibition at the Filmmuseum Berlin, points out the motive of angels in films and its relations to the fine arts, to music and to religion.
