Mertz's Op. 65 is a substantial and virtuistic trilogy, which has not been available to guitarists for many years. Its three parts are thematically and harmonically linked, suggesting that a cyclic performance is not only possible, but also preferable. Titles of the pieces are: Fantaisie Hongroise; Fantaise Originale; Le Gondolier.
