Crossing the Bridge: The Sound Of Istanbul (Book & 4-CD set)

The award-winning feature film Gegen Die Wand by the Hamburg-based filmmaker Faith Akin led to the project of a documentary film portraying the diverse and vibrant music scene of Istanbul - Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul. The photographs in this volume were taken during the shooting of the film and consequently reveal facets of a city that has fascinated the director from his early childhood days in Istanbul. The 4 CDs celebrate the musical backdrop to these impressions and is provided by a selection of tracks from Fatih Akin's personal collection, including original and previously unreleased outtakes from the film.
