Barragan Guide

For architecture buffs, here's a dream tour of Mexico: an annotated guidebook to buildings by the Pritzker Prize-winning master Luis Barragan (1902-1988). Following the volume's itinerary through three Mexican cities - Guadalajara, Mexico City and Monterrey - provides not only a chronological survey of Barragan's surviving work, but also a look at three urban realities that provided the context of his work. Cited as an inspiration by contemporary stars Tadao Ando, Frank Gehry and Rem Koolhaas, among others, Barragán succeeded in creating his own version of modernism, infused with the warmth and vibrancy of his native Mexico. This second edition updates the previous edition with new photos and a more comprehensive bibliography.
