Blyton

Blyton is a village and civil parish within the West Lindsey district of Lincolnshire, England. It is 4.5 miles (7.2 km) north-east of Gainsborough. From Blyton the village of Laughton lies to the north, and Pilham to the south-east, while the course of the River Trent is nearby to the west.Blyton had a population of 1,086 in the 2001 census.The name Blyton is thought[by whom?] to be from a combination of the Old Norse and Old English Bligr+ton, meaning "farmstead of a man called Bligr". It appeared in the Domesday Book as Blitone.
