This book presents the basic theory of signals and system, basic methods of analyzing them and their applications. Its divided into eleven chapters. The first seven chapters deal with basic contents of signals and systems. They reveal various characteristics of signals and systems in the time domain and the models of the continuous and discrete time systems. From the perspective of frequency domain, signals and systems are analyzed while the discrete time Fourier transformation, discrete Fourier transformation, systematic Fourier analysis, Laplace transformation, z-transformation, the expression of the transmission function of the linear invariant system, etc. are elaborated. The eighth chapter deals with extended contents. It covers using the transmission function to analyze the linear invariant continuous time system; using the thought of transmission function to control problems; adopt Laplace and z-transformations in the design of digital filters and controllers. The basic principle of the state description of the linear invariant continuous and discrete system is expounded. It also includes a large number of MATLAB software simulation examples.
