The Old Man and the Sea (Chinese Edition)

The story is set in Cuba in the mid-20th century. The old fisherman has caught no fish for many days and he is starving but finally he catches a large marlin pulling his skiff in the sea. With no water, food, weapon, or assistant, the old man is not discouraged at all. After two days and two nights, he manages to kill the fish and straps it to the side of his skiff. Sharks come to him for the fish. He drives them away but eventually only backbone, tail and head of the fish is left. The novel captures the attention of readers across the world with its simple language, exiting plot and heroism.
