The book is divided into 14 sections, the first four of which are febrile diseases, six classics, pulse-taking methods, and general statement on dosage and the last 10 section are the original preface by Zhang Zhongjing, taiyang, yangming, shaoyang, tanyin, shaoyin, queyin, recurrence caused by overexertion after recovery from yinyangyi (name of a disease), and cholera. This book has exerted such a great influence that the celebrated then in both political and medical circles including Lin Miao, Yu Youren, Chen Guofu, Chen Lifu and Huang Zhuzhai all inscribed and prefaced it.
