The first three editions of this manual have served their purpose to a great extent. The present edition of the manual has been divided into four separate parts viz Part I - General Bacteriology Part II - Immunology and Serology Part III - Pathogenic Bacteriology and Mycology and Part IV - Virology. Laboratory exercises in virology have been added for the first time in the manual and presented as Part IV.In the present edition recent information has been incorporated as far as possible. Seventeen new exercises have been added in Part II and three additional exercises in Part III. The exercises on Rickettsia and Chlamydia have been added for the first time in Part III. The text portion of most of the exercises has been revised and enlarged.
