Gender Issues in Development: Concerns for the 21st Century

Gender issues cover the entire gamut of development efforts. Over recent decades, gender issues appeared to be the most intriguing aspect for development plans. This edited volume — which is the outcome of a national seminar in India, held under the auspices of Council for Social Development, New Delhi — discusses gender issues involved in different development activities in India. The book provides a multi-disciplinary perspective, with contributors from different social science backgrounds, such as economics, sociology, demography, geography, and anthropology.
