Reasons, Not Excuses (Substance Abuse)

"Reasons, Not Excuses", is an honest approach addressing issues of "Race & Recovery" with reference to African and Native Americans troubled with substance abuse and the sometimes difficult road to recovery. The author attemts to bring light to the overlooked issue of race and racism as a real deterrent to not only recovery, but to the counselor's inability to address cultural difference and stigma that are exclusive to minority persons, and exempt to others.
