Av 169: Abalos + Sentkiewicz - Form, Matter, Energy

This instalment is devoted to the works of the prestigious office of Ábalos + Sentkiewicz. Iñaki Ábalos himself contributes a lengthy essay on the theory behind the firms practice, and twelve projects realised and as yet unbuilt are featured in detail. Beginning with older works located in Madrid, such as the Lolita Office Building and Orfila Street Residential Pavilion, it traces a chronological path through the Antoni Tàpies Foundation in Barcelona and Transport Hub and Urban Park in Logroño, to recent efforts further afield: a mixed-use complex in Beirut and the Zhuhai Contemporary Art Museum.
