Knowledge, Consciousness and Religious Conversion in Lonergan and Aurobindo

The following study is a comparison of the theological and philosophical views of the Catholic theologian Bernard Lonergan with those of the modern Hindu philosopher Sri Aurobindo Ghose on the topics of knowledge, consciouseness and religious conversion. The structure of this work proceeds from a conviction that it is impossible to create a lasting and coherent theology without reference to metaphysics.
