"The Shotokan Stylistic System" - Investigation on the origins, evolution, meaning and symbolism in the katas of the most famous and controversial Karate style. The investigations summarized in this book led to the creation of new theories about the origins and historical development of the katas spread in the Sh?t?kan d?j? by the Funakoshi family. In the fruit of this work lasting two decades, the author reveals the original names, main features and Chinese styles, from which originate all the katas trained in Sh?t?kan and Sh?t?kai stylistic systems, but also present in Wad?-ry?, Shit?-ry?, Sh?rin-ry? and partially in other styles coming from the tradition of Naha-te like the G?j?-ry?. For each of the following Karate kata was made an entire chapter, gathered here in a single volume: Taikyoku, Heian, Tekki, Bassai, Kank?, Jion, Jitte, Ji'in, Enpi, Hangetsu, Gangaku, S?chin, Nij?shiho, Uns?, Chint?, Meiky?, Goj?shiho, Wankan, Ten no kata, Chi no kata, Jin no Kata, Hyakuhachiho, J?mu, Kokan, Wandau, Wanduan, Sh?shi no Kon, Sueyoshi no Kon, Shirotaru no Kon, Sakugawa no Kon e Matsukaze no Kon.
