This volume honors Erle Verdun Leichty's substantial and wide-ranging contributions to the study of ancient Mesopotamia. The articles represent the latest thinking of leading scholars in the field of Assyriology/Sumerology.

Thirty-eight contributions cover the following subjects: history, divination, magic, religion, ritual, medicine, literature, prosopography, lexicography, art and archaeology, and the history of the field.
