The Bookshop of the World: The Role of the Low Countries in the Book-Trade 1473-1941

Twenty-five papers are included from a 1999 conference on the international role of the Netherlands in the history of the book trade. The papers cover five centuries and represent a wholly modern approach to the history of publishing in a European context.
