German photographer Holger Niehaus combines technical virtuosity with compositions that are ingenious in both colour and their staging. Rather than simply photograph objects as he finds them, Niehaus engages in a lengthy and painstaking process of intervention with his still lives applying paint to flowers, working precise holes into fruit or arranging sheets of coloured paper.
