Demand Side Management: Opportunities and Perspectives in the Asia-Pacific Region With Emphasis on the Gas and Electricity Sectors : Seoul, Korea 4t

Proceedings of a Conference held by the International Energy Agency. Demand-Side Management (DSM) is gaining greater attention in the Asia-Pacific region among developing countries as a tool for coping with the challenges arising from the region's rapid growth of energy demand. In response to the potential for DSM to satisfy energy security, environmental, and economic development goals, the International Energy Agency, along with the Korean Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy, and the Korea Energy Economics Institute organized the International Conference on DSM which was held in Seoul on the 4th and 5th of November 1993. The conference provided the first opportunities for the IEA and non-Member countries in the region to discuss exclusively the opportunities and perspecitves of DSM in the Asia-Pacific region. These conference proceedings address issues such as: the design and implementation of DSM programs barriers to increased efficiency and the potential for adapting experiences of industrialized countries to developing countries in the region.
