About the Book Every year, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Centre of Physiotherapy & Rehabilitation Sciences conducts entrance examination for admission to Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Bachelor of Physiotherapy courses respectively. This book has been designed for the candidates preparing for the entrance examinations for admission in BDS and Physiography programme offered at Jamia Millia Islamia. The present book for Jamia Millia Islamia BDS & BPT has been divided into three sections namely - Physics, Chemistry and Biology, each sub-divided into number of chapters as per the syllabi of the entrance examinations. The Physics section covers Units & Measurements, Mechanics, Heat Transfer, Vibrations & Waves, Light & Sound, Electricity & Magnetism and Modern Physics, whereas the Biology section is spread over Unit of Life Structure & Functions, Evolution & Genetics, Diversity in Living World, Plant & Animal Physiology, Systems of Living Organisms, Biotechnology, Human Disorder, Human Health & Welfare and Ecology & Non-living Organisms. The Chemistry section on the other hand covers Atomic Structure, Chemical Bonding, Chemical Reactions & Equations, Laws of Chemical Combination, Acids & Bases, Periodic Classification of Elements, Chemistry of Non-metals, Some Important Chemical Compounds, Carbon & its Different Forms, etc. The chapters also contain unsolved exercises meant for the purpose of practice. Each question has been solved in detail along with theoretical explanation wherever required. Five section tests have been provided at the end of each section for sharpening the skills section-wise. Last three years' (2013-2015) Solved Papers of BDS and BPT Entrance Exam have been provided in the book to help students get insight into the examination pattern.
