Manual of Law: Indian Paramilitary and Central Armed Police Forces

The Central Armed Police and Paramilitary Forces play a crucial role in ensuring the security and peace of India. The laws relating to the six central armed police forces (CAPFs), namely, Border Security Force (BSF), Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP), Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and National Security Guards (NSG) and one central paramilitary force (CPMF), namely, Assam Rifles (AR) has been covered in this Manual.

This is the first attempt to bring the laws governing these forces under one cover for reference, comparative analysis and research. The Manual discusses the disciplinary system of these forces and a wide range of matters, such as jurisdiction, arrest, custody, investigation, charging and mode of trial, summary hearing, disciplinary courts, punishments, review and appeal. It aims to provide guidance to those involved in the administration of discipline in the central armed police and paramilitary forces as well as to the lawyers, judicial officials, researchers and human rights organizations.
