VK’s Economics has maintained a distinctive edge over most existing texts in the market. This is our modest claim based on robust acknowledgements from an ever-growing readership across all parts of the country, besides several nations in the neighbourhood. Our text is the outcome of a concerted and sincere effort of our authors who leave no stone unturned in updating it, making it simple and simpler, as well as reader-friendly.
Novel Features of the Text
Each chapter starts with a To Do list. It gives the central idea of the chapter and the way it has been addressed.
Each chapter is divided into several sections covering all components of the syllabus. Each chapter is splashed with HOTS. This is to promote clarity of the basics. Focus Zones in each chapter offer crux of the concepts. Students are advised to take these zones as ‘handy material’ for the exams. Matter in the blocks (in each chapter) is what needs emphasis for deeper understanding. Revision Window is another novelty of the text. It offers everything just ‘at a glance’. ‘Exercise’ is tuned to the pattern of examination. Answers to important questions focus on the technique of writing. The exercise includes:
(i) questions relating to ‘remembering and understanding’ of the subject-matter
(ii) information and concept-based questions
(iii) reason-based questions
(iv) HOTS and applications
(v) evaluation and multi-disciplinary (value-based) questions
(vi) CBSE questions (with answers or reference to the text for answers)
(vii) NCERT questions (with hints to answers)
(viii) miscellaneous and add-on questions (with hints or reference to the text for answers)
Dos and Don’ts (at the end of each chapter) should serve as a safeguard against misinterpretation of the concepts.
Ability Zone is a uniquely designed section at the end of the chapter. This raises the difficulty level, of course, but should serve as a useful material for the outstanding learners.
A pool of solved and unsolved numericals are given to facilitate an overall revision.
The text is dedicated to the readers who are a perennial source of inspiration for its upgradation.
