Construction and Building Research

This book contains the proceedings of the "2nd Conference on Construction and Building Research" that was held at the Universitat Politècnica de València from November 14th-16th, 2012. The main objective of the conference was to respond to the growing demand for research, development and innovation in the building sector. The topics discussed were: materials and construction systems, building technologies, energy and sustainability, heritage, renovation and maintenance, building construction management. The field of knowledge associated with the building sector is quite complex, and therefore its research must show an interdisciplinary approach. This can only be effectively developed by a strong interaction between a large variety of scientific and technological domains and more conventional construction and craft processes. Advanced management processes, where all the main actors permanently interact, also need to be considered.
