Tim Hall - Above The Clouds

In this series of photographs, British photographer Tim Hall embraces the vast expanses and craggy landscapes of Austrias Arlberg mountains in an effort to convey the scale and majesty of the place, as well as the sense of liberation it evokes. All of the regions aspects are pictured, from ski slopes, chair lifts and white-covered mountain villages, to sublime peaks reaching above the clouds and the graceful greenery of the warmer seasons. His work sets humans before the enormity of nature, exploring the fragile relationship between that world and those who venture into it. Completing this sense of awe are passages from writers, artists and others, plus an essay by Anna Tyzack.
