Talking Bodies. Men's Narratives of the Body and Sport

These Stories are based on autobiographical narratives from the authors own subjective experiences or on their interpretations of the stories told b others. Many of the letters are ex-athletes, able-bodied men. The most striking link between the narratives is a change in the masculine body and identity. The deepest change occurs when a familiar body becomes harmful, disruptive, alien, or even anguish. This book representrs an interesting and fresh avenue in the 'city' of gender studies.
