The second of the two volume set "Guide to the butterflies of Russia and adjacent territories" provides information about the butterfly families libytheidae, danaidae, nymphalidae, riodinidae and lycaenidae, occuring in the former Soviet Union - which comprises of approximately one-sixth of the worlds landmass. There is information covering more than 870 species or subspecies, of which nine lycaenid species are described as new to science, and numerous taxonomic innovations are proposed.
