Bombay and Goa (Our World in Color)

Bombay was once India's seaside gateway for viceroys entering the country at the height of the British Raj. Today it serves the same purpose, but the viceroys have been replaced by business visitors and tourists. Nestled amidst the high-rises are teeming bazaars, forgotten fishing villages, ancient temples and carefully-preserved enclaves of Victoria gentility. A short trip away lies Goa, land of white churches, golden beaches and festivals. Colonized by the Portugese, much of Goa's architecture, language, cuisine and customs reflect this strong European influence.
