Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto appeals before the Supreme Court against Lahore High court's judgment in Muhammad Ahmed Khan's murder case. On February 6, 1976, supreme court announced a divided verdict in which three of the judges Mr Justice Safdar Shah, Mr Justice Durrab Patail, and Mr Justice Haleem acquitted him honorably opposing the judgment by other four on the bench i.e. Mr Justice Anwar ul Haq, Mr Justice Muhammad Akram, Mr Justice Karam Elahi and Mr Justice Naseem Hasan Shah, who rejected his appeal. A few years back Justice Naseem Hasan Shah admitted that they were under pressure of General Zia s regime in this particular case.
This book under review Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto ka Muqadma - Supreme Court ka Faisla contains the longest judgment of legal history about a murder case. The courts of time and history have acknowledged Bhutto as a great Pakistani leader. To put this country's history in its true perspective and to explain the way its chapters on law, the judiciary, politics and peoples power and rule were written , the divided and disputed judgment has been translated from English to Urdu.
