The HP OpenView University Association (HP-OVUA) is a global network of universities and research institutes. The Association focuses on technology and innovation in order to better use, design, deploy, operate and maintain an information infrastructure that enables reliable, agile and adaptive services for both business benefit and individual use.

The Association’s universities and research institutes are academic leaders in the IT management field. These institutions continually conduct research into the leading topics driving IP management. Each year the HP-OVUA holds a workshop for the purpose of sharing results from upcoming and ongoing research, focusing on a key set of IT management topics. This book is the result of the work presented at the workshop hosted by the University of Porto, Portugal, July 10-13, 2005.
