Body That Bleeds: Menstrual Politics in Malaysia

Although menstruation is a biological event it has been coated with many layers of cultural values and perceptions. Exploring the cultural embedment of menstruation and its meanings in relation to yet another culturally loaded term "woman", this book explores the effects and implications when the understanding of "menstruation" is challenged.

By re-examining the cultural perceptions and stimulating discussions, it is hoped that open and active communication will pave way for the reclamation of women's bodies by women.
