Ebru Istanbul

Marbling, as an art born in Central Asia, made its breakthrough development in Istanbul. Flower marblings, developed by Necmeddin Okyay, are accompanied by daisy works of Mustafa Duzgunman. Alparslan Babaoglu, one of Duzgunman's disciples made a synthesis of marbling and the "kat'i" art (artistic paper cutting), so as to take the Istanbul skyline to the marbling vat. Staying local to the marbling techniques of Duzgunman, Babaoglu also made another synthesis of the Turkish miniature and calligraphy arts, whereby opening a new era of classical arts of Istanbul.
