An abundance of renewable resources has become one of the most significant characteristics of Iceland and harnessing hot water from the earth is the country's dominant form of energy use. Geothermal Living focuses on a partial aspect of geothermal use, the culture of public outdoor bathing. It is based on the author's life-long participation in the pool culture of Reykjavik and provides an exceptional insight into the cultural meaning of water.
